Create your Own Color Palette

If you’re tired of looking through my color palette library and want to make one for your self, I’ve got some solid hacks for you to do just that!

Everyone will tell you a different way to create a color palette but this is the one that works for me and what you see out of my color palette library! For this example I am using Photoshop, but if you don’t have a design program check out my Color Picking Hack for Macs or use the Color Generator mentioned below!

Find an Image that Inspires You

Take inspiration from your surroundings. Images of landscapes and nature always provide the best sources of light and color. A photograph you took when traveling or one from a festival, anything with colors that you can’t look away from.

If you’re having trouble coming up with an image yourself one of my favorite places to look are Pinterest and Pexels!

Upload your image to Photoshop

Drop your image into your design file or open it up as it’s own image. For my color palette library I open the image up in my palette template file and choose the colors directly on the image. Then go over to your color picker and click different spots on the image to collect the colors! Keep trying new spots until you find the right colors for your palette!
